Privacy
In short: we collect what is needed to handle a booking, and nothing more. We do not track you or sell your information.
Who is responsible for your data
Yngve Ydersbond , yngvey@gmail.com, +4792093527.
What we store, and why
- Name, email address and, if provided, phone number
- To confirm the booking, send practical information before arrival and reach you if something happens. Without this, we cannot carry out the agreement. A phone number is optional; if you do not provide one, we use email instead.
- Dates, number of guests, any pets and the message you write
- To know what you have booked and reserve the property for you.
- Price, extras and payments
- To charge the correct amount and because Norwegian bookkeeping law requires us to retain sales documentation.
- IP address when submitting a form
- Only as a counter to prevent someone from sending hundreds of requests per minute. The counter is deleted automatically after a short time and is not linked to your booking.
Cookies
We use no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no consent banner. Necessary cookies are used only to make the site work:
fokus / besøkt– fokus and besøkt – remember whether you arrived through a link to a specific place, so that place is shown first.hold– hold – keeps your in-progress booking while you complete the form. It contains a reference and a random key, not personal information.vertsesjon– vertsesjon – set only when the host logs into the administration area.locale– locale – remembers the language you selected. It contains only that language choice.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell or share information for marketing. These parties see it, each for its own purpose:
- Our email provider – because email to you must be sent through an email server.
- Our SMS provider – but only the phone number and message itself, and only if you supplied a number.
- Booking portals – such as Airbnb, Booking.com and Finn learn which nights are unavailable – never who you are. Our calendar export contains only the word “Occupied”.
The website loads nothing from other websites: no fonts, tracking scripts or map tiles. If you choose a Google Maps link, you go there yourself, and the link is configured so Google does not learn which page you came from.
How long we keep information
- Completed bookings are kept for five years after the end of the financial year because Norwegian bookkeeping law requires this.
- Key codes and Wi-Fi information for the stay are released 7 days before arrival and are not available afterwards. Directions are public information on each property page.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we have stored about you, correct anything that is wrong, and delete information we are not legally required to retain. You can also ask for your information in a standard file format. Contact us at yngvey@gmail.com, and we will reply within 30 days.
If you believe we handle your information incorrectly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
Security
Your booking link contains a random 32-character key. Anyone with the link can view and cancel the booking, so share it only with people who are part of the stay. We never put your information anywhere other people can read it.
